I’ve used some elements of this genre into my own song while also using fusion jazz influences. As a child my father always listened to jazz music around me, while my siblings and peers listened to hip hop, so naturally I would eventually shape the music that I produce myself, using both elements. J Dilla and Nujabes are two of the most inspirational artists I could think of, this being said I shaped my drums to sound like their sound. This meant that I put the BPM at 90, and I made the drums swing throughout the entire song. The melody throughout the verse (A Sections) is a repeated

Guido d’Arezzo was an Italian Benedictine Monk born in France in the century year of 995. Guido was not a composer during this time, instead he was a musical therapist and teacher. Although he was not a composer, Guido made the discovery of a new form of music notation after moving to Italy where he also worked for Bishop Theobald, despite the fact that he was a music therapist and teacher ("GUIDO D'AREZZO"). With his new discovery, this method made it possible for composers to record their music on paper. Beforehand, singers and composers had to remember their own melodies and chants by memory, causing major differences within the music as they passed the music down generations ("GUIDO D'AREZZO").…

After listening to the James Brown song, it is easy to hear that the rhythm of the song catches your hear. The rhythm of the songs definitely make them a obvious choice to keep the party going. The first parts in Funky Drummer that I would sample is from 2:00 to 2:30, where the saxophones seems to be in a groove. it does not have any shouts or grunts during this part. That part is just solid and clean, and the beat just grabs you rhythmically.…

I think that this song was very different from the songs we listened to in class, which was kind of neat. There wasn’t a clear rhythm of sorts to this song. I felt like a lot of different things were going on and each instrument had their own parts going on. However, it all flowed together really well. The saxophone(s) and piano played most of the choruses, and each had their own little part of a solo.…

During the four years, the politically motivated Army of Republika Srpska, under the command of Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, dropped an average of 377 shells every single day causing damage to over 64% of the buildings and over 100,000 apartments. The Bosnian Serb army also used the hills surrounding Sarajevo to its advantage by placing snipers there who targeted innocent civilians including children, elderly and women. The siege ended in 1996 after the intervention of the United Nations and The NATO, which forced the Bosnian Serb Army to declare ceasefire. However, the once beautifully diverse city of Sarajevo…

Music – Daniel Machado is writing the songs for the two musicals. I tapped him for this project because he’s particularly good at writing dense information-packed music in a way that’s easy for audiences to understand and enjoy. The tunes he tends to come up with are catchy, upbeat, and full of energy. However, the tunes almost always have the opposite effect when viewed from multiple angles over time. Since the story will unfold in layers, his approach is perfect for tackling the consent story line (The third story line most visible once the two stories are viewed together in the correct order).…
