Digital Literacy: What Is The Purpose Of Visualization?

Visualizers generally concentrate on the medium (online/offline) to present and are more concerned about the visualizations, whereas, there is a large gap in creating trustworthy visualizations and understanding them. Clearly, the visualization is used to make the decision, attain perspective, or gain knowledge and these visualizations are generally implanted in a written material, which is likely to be presented to the audience by the person who prepared the material or downloaded via the medium of internet. However, we neglect the words, written or spoken with the visualization, that highly have a huge influence on the way information is understood. Thus, it is important to keep ethical consideration in mind and should understand that the purpose of visualization is insight, not pictures. The tool is a metaphor, which hides the radical aspects of visualization. However, there is a limitation to this tool metaphor, it is useful to discuss with management to have a sense of digital control, allowing Lead Analysts to encapsulate what they know and develop new technology onto it.
