Digital literacy can be defined as the ability to access, analyze and engage in critical thinking about the array of messages they receive and send in order to make informed decisions about the everyday issues they face regarding health, work, politics and leisure. Most American families live in “constantly connected” homes with 500+ TV channels, broadband Internet access, and mobile phones offering on-screen, interactive activities at the touch of a fingertip. Digital literacy equips tech users with the tools needed to allocate the scarce resource of human attention to quality, high-value messages that have relevance to their lives. I Am Digital™ expresses the peoples' need to evolve and the expectations (both conscious and subconscious) that the phenomena involved in frequently changing behavioral patterns. COURSE COMPETENCIES: Understand the function of digital literacy and digital citizenship and its application in today's work force. Competencies for digital literacy are classified into three main principles: Use, Understanding and Creation.
• Use, represents the technical fluency that is needed to ethically operate computers and the Internet.
• Understanding, signifies that critical piece – it is the set of skills that help us comprehend, contextualize, and critically evaluate digital media, so that we can make informed decisions about what we do and encounter online.
• Creation, denotes the ability to produce content and effectively communicate through a variety of digital media
