For the digital history survey, I choose to use the National Museum of African American History and Culture or NMAAHC, for my assignment. The reason for doing so, was because I was researching for another assignment and I happen to stumble across this website. I found the website to be a good choice for this assignment, due to all the information, stories, and online exhibits it has. I think that this website is a very good way to learn about the African American culture, because it likes to talk about many different subjects, whether it be civil rights, sports, clothing, army, black women, etc.
The Website is highly detailed and organized so that a guest (such as I at the time) may easily find what they are looking for. The website shows many links with cover images attached to them, such as: stories, recent news, information about the museum, etc. When visiting the site, one can tell that there was though put in the website and that they wanted to make the website user friendly. For example, as of August 23, 2017, on the main page, there are many stories presented such as “Float like a butterfly”, “Seeing black women in power”, “Dress for the occasion” and many more fascinating stories about the African American culture. Personally, in my opinion, the website gives great effort on its stories, collections, and exhibits. What I also liked about the website is how some of the stories and exhibits are made by the museum’s own staff who can do things based on their interest. Also, when reading the stories, one can see that it is very professional written, along with pictures to further express the story. The best part about it is that normally the sources that were used are included, so if anyone wants to know more about a subject, they can do
