Digital Forensics Paper

Digital forensics is a new milestone in the era of forensics. From times immemorial a number of methodologies have been proffered in an attempt to devise a process that will aid in thorough investigation. The power of digital forensics have been harvested by many software developers by utilizing the proposed processes to fabricate some new digital forensic methodology, such as Encase. Majority of these tools provide limited solutions based on their perspective of the crucial process components. Some of them dedicate their resources on various phases or subcomponents of an investigation.
Although many significant advances have been made in digital forensic investigations, an amalgamated approach that merges both physical crime and cyber crime detection is not yet established. The flaws of the investigation process come to light when the opposing party and court investigate the digital evidence and the digital forensic process. Another shortcoming of digital forensics is the increase in time span of investigation due to unavailability of history viewer technology and insufficient feedback.

To confront legal scrutiny in a court, the model will help to present digital evidences obtained by means of strenuous evidence gathering process.
To attain this goal we compared and combined various digital forensic model and emerged with a new digital forensic model named as Comparative Digital Forensic Process Model and its conversion in Tool named as Comparative Digital Forensic Process Tool
