The purpose of my capstone is the look at factors that determine the success of African-American males who attend rural colleges or universities. When you look at the national trends of graduation and completion rates of African-American males, they are lower than any other ethnic group. The new idea that I am purposing is that different, intrusiveness needs to occur for these students to transition successfully through college on to graduation to be success contributors to society through their educational experiences, knowledge and understanding.

All experiences are not the same, but there should be some similarities that students are able to master to be successful and to graduate in a designated amount of time.
Complexity:
The degree to which the innovation is perceived as difficult to understand and use.
Develop strong intrusiveness themes, ideas, and goals to ensure success of these students. When it comes to diversity, this can be a complex subject and when it comes to intrusiveness, all students are not the same and different strategies will have to be implement to service student differently. Students come from urban, city, and rural environments and their upbringing is all different.
Trialability:
The degree to which the innovation may be experimented with on a limited basis.
This could be done through several methods. We have a mentoring program called DREAMS that is for underrepresented students, but open to all. We could segment the students, but ensure that the practices that we put in place or the standards that we would follow for the African-American male
