The Difficulties of my Language
“The English language is one of the most popular languages to learn, perhaps the most spoken language around the world is English, and many people choose to learn the language simply to communicate more effectively with more people from around the globe (Wilson)”. The English Language, being my second Language, gives me a different perspective at times of what is being said in the common daily life I so greatly live. Going through the K-12 system I have a great understanding of the English Language, but to better communicate and think I need to master certain aspects of the English Language. Referring to the English 101 course syllabus, one of the greatest challenges I will want to overcome this quarter are Reading Processes. I have always had problem enjoying a good book for class or self-pleasure. My brain can wonder while reading, and I can forget what I’m reading about. I have always felt that if I were to read more throughout high school that I would just be a better student then and now. To overcome my dilemma of reading Processes this quarter and to better myself for future English courses, I will need to read more actively and comprehensively by applying myself and my interests to understand broader texts.

Personal reading for self-enjoyment, and study reading for class assignments. I tend to put more effort towards study reading, because it is more important. Personal reading is what do on my free time for example before bed. Reading before bed has really helped recently. Instead of using my phone I try to read to better help my brain come down. When I’m on my phone the brightness can give me a headache and not shut by brain down. Personal reading has really helped that problem of mine. I can really see why people read books. It’s not all about the story or for school, but it can be for other personal reasons as
