Differing backgrounds, cultures, identity and personal beliefs have an impact on how we communicate. The way we have been brought up and the same cultures should be accommodated if possible. By having knowledge and awareness of other cultures we can communicate to a level of understanding. different cultures develop an understanding of, and a respect for individuals differences where has eye contact, a smile, handshake can be interpreted differently, by observing and reading their care plan we can learn the individuals preferred method of communicating.
