My Reflection On Creativity Log

Improved Essays
Reflecting upon the course, I have learned quite an extensive amount about different ways of being creative. I have never really been a creative individual, but this course has really helped me branch out from my comfort zone and learn different ways to be creative. I have learned about my creative process by engaging in the activities and reflections related to the personal creativity log, as well as other course material by concentrating on what I would create for each activity. Learning about my personal creative process was interesting and important to me because it is easy for someone to create something, but when it is something that you have personally created, it means more to you. The personal creativity log activity or reflection most resonated with me and was the most fun to me was creating the jars. …show more content…
Also, I like the fact that I can use the jars for different things. As of right now, I use them for candy in my office, but there are so many things you can use them for. I like things that I can get multiple uses out of. The most challenging personal creativity log for me was picking out seven pictures that were important to me. I had to cut some of my other pictures that were important to me out. Since we could only have seven pictures, it made me realize what was really important to me and what was less important to me in life. In week one, I considered myself a creative person, but not as creative as some individuals. However, my answer has not changed throughout the course, but I have noticed that I don 't want to throw out certain items if I see that I can create something out of whatever it may

This course has improved myself as a writer and has a critical thinker; with the essays that were written I was challenged to ask more questions and see the bigger picture on things and view a subject from all sides. I never wrote an argumentative essay before this course, so this course taught me what it was how to write one and what exactly I was looking for and what I would be able to improve on. I know there is still room for improvement, but taking this course has already made me a better writer from when I started. Writing argumentative essays would help improve many skills as an individual by learning how to approach important issues without taking a side and learning this would also help if a person was trying to prove a point…

At the beginning of the semester, I viewed myself as a creative writer. After attending this class I realized that there is a lot more that goes into writing an essay, or a research paper, than just creativity alone. I have learned that it is very important to be aware of my strengths and weaknesses in my writing. Taking this class has helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses in my writing skills, and it has given me the opportunity to strengthen the areas in which I was weak. An example of this is that I have become aware of my grammar and spelling errors as the semester progressed.…

This current semester I am enrolled in Professor Zack’s Media Production I class. Our first project of the semester was a silent film that would focus on someone or something involving a lock and a key while expressing an emotion. This project wasn’t a solo project, but instead involved working with one other person. The lock and key could be metaphoric or literal and from that concept we had to tell a story in twelve to fifteen shots. Our idea was to convey a young musician finding the right “key” on his guitar and “unlock” the excitement (which was our assigned emotion) inside of him.…

I have always been more on the “imaginative” side. I like to draw and create things in my spare time. Additionally, I enjoy reading fiction, which is based solely on the imagination of others, and writing my own small works of fiction and poems. Over the course of this semester I learned a handful of things about myself as a writer, that will help me develop as a more proficient writer over the course of my four years here. As a writer one of my strengths is backing up my argument with solid and concrete evidence that truly makes the reader believe what they are reading. Another area of my writing that I excel in is being able to process great ideas that follow the guidelines and the prompt. With that being said I have also seen that while the ideas may come with ease, I do have a challenging time with getting the ideas from my head onto paper in a manner that isn’t so disorganized that it makes the reader second guess themselves. Another shaky part of my writing comes much before the actual forming of sentences.…
