Multiple Sclerosis is a disease where the immune system eats away at the protective, myelin or layer covering nerves. This disease is also known as MS, which is Multiple Sclerosis abbreviated. MS has a very big effect on a person and their family, knowing this because my aunt was diagnosed with MS before she passed away. Currently there is not a known cause from Multiple Sclerosis, but science have theories. Some believe that it is a result of combination of genetics, and some believe it is environmental factors, and others believe smoking has an effect. More commonly found in people who live farther from the equator, MS is mostly found in areas such as places with Northern European populations.

Most commonly found in people who have MS are visual and sensory problems due to the fact that the nervous system is slowly dissolving away. Depending on if the lesions are located in the central nervous system, symptoms are most likely to include loss of sensitivity. Once the lesions start to spread symptoms increase to things like tingling, muscle weakness, muscle spasms, numbness, late reflexes, difficulty in moving, coordination, and balance issues. The earliest research and experiments where in the mid 1800s by Robert Carswell, British professor, and Jean Cruveilhier, French professor. They both worked together and were able to find details about inflammation but did not identify it as a separate disease. It wasn’t until 1866 that Swiss PAthologist Georg Edward Rindfleisch that the inflamed lesions were around blood vessels and named the disease Multiple Sclerosis. When they get overheated some say that they have experienced blurred vision. In extremely cold weather some say that symptoms get worst. It is good to have a relationship or close family member to be able have a bound with. Although it doesn’t necessarily help someone's symptoms it will make them feel as if they have someone to help them. When caregiving it can be exhausting for the primary caregiver. Just remember that your own health could be at risk. Staying mobile and being apply to access things is very important, meaning that it is important to get places comfortably and with no struggle. Rehab specialists can help you do stay active. Staying mobile can be used by mobility aids, automobile adaptations, and assistance of animals. Also having the right shoes and and comfortable style with help. Staying mobile will not only give someone confidence it with help with depression caused by MS.
