The Bible: A Literary Analysis

All literature is written for a purpose. Different types of literature have different purposes. Fiction novels are written for entertainment; bibliographies are written to tell the story of someone’s life; bibles are written to remind followers of who they are. Bibles portray several different ideas about religion such as who is God or Jesus, who are the Jewish or Christian people, to describe the relationship between God and his people, and how the world may end. A follower needs to understand all aspects. In the novel How to Read the Bible, readers can learn about the correct way to read the Bible, which is to recognize what type of literature it is in order to perceive the real message of the story (McKenzie 20). The relationship is the most important aspect of a follower’s life. In this literature piece, there are four beasts. They are similar to a lion, ox, man, and an eagle. At every moment of the day, the beasts continued to say, “Holy, holy holy / is the Lord God Almighty, / who was, and is, and is to come” (Revelation 4:8). Whenever these living creatures praise the man on the throne, the twenty four elders also fall to the ground to worship him, God. These elders “lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, / to receive glory and honor and power, / for you created all things, / and by your will they were created / and have their being” (Revelations 4:9).
