Different Types Of Discrimination In America

To begin, there are various types of discrimination in America based on age, disability, race/color, sex, religion etc. Although, all of this types of discrimination should be address to help each of the individuals affected by them there is one type in specific that I would like to report and that is discrimination based on sex. According to Equal Rights Advocates, sex discrimination can be seen in hiring, firing, pay, sexual harassment, gender identity, and stereotyping. Lately, news headline have approached sex discrimination due to gender identity. Mainly, the news report on teenagers and adults who have been physically and verbally abused due to their lgbtq sexual preference. According to the statement, Alexander Betts Jr. came from a mixed family and had recently come out to friends and family as homosexual. Although his mother stated that the family was in complete support of Alexander’s decision to come out, Alexander never talked to his parents about the intense bullying he was going through at school. Now, Alexander’s mother griefs and asks for schools to pay more attention to the bullying done by students. As well, she stated that her son has been the fifth student at Southeast Polk High School to commit suicide due to bullying.
