Diabetes has become an epidemic in the United States of America, and in many revolving countries around the world. There are about three different types of diabetes known. The main types of diabetes are gestational, type one, and type two. Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 is known as chronic autoimmune disease. This means that the body is self-killing its own beta cells found in the pancreas. These beta cells create inulin, which is a peptide hormone that helps control glucose in your blood. The pancreas is a gland found in the stomach princely between the spine and the stomach. It is a gland that produces beta cells. These beta cells produce a hormone called insulin this hormone helps maintain homeostasis in the blood glucose. Since diabetes T1 is an autoimmune disease the body will destroy these insulin-secreting cells, as it believes that these cells are not part of the body, this process is called cell apoptosis (programed cell death). At this point there is rally no given reason why the body takes the beta cells as a foreign object, but scientist are doing everything they can to find the cure for diabetes. As we now know diabetes is an auto immune disease that kiss its own insulin secreting cells, well if the body is doing so; it won 't be able to create sufficient amount of insulin for the body to take in. In this case the body will begin to look for insulin, and it won 't have any in store. Thus creating hypoglycemia in the patient. Insulin is necessary for the body to be able to convert glucose (sugar) into energy (ATP). If the body isn’t taking sugar into the cells it can cause glucose to go in the blood instead of going into the cells, which can lead to diabetic complications.
