ove has so many aspects to it, that’s why people has different beliefs of what love really is. The play Romeo and Juliet, by W. Shakespeare has shown different themes including love. The book showcases love in different varieties of ways, causing for it to be its main theme. Shakespeare uses his characters in the book to show us the different perspectives people can have about love. Each of the characters in this has their own opinion of what love for them is. However, Lady Capulet, the Nurse and Lord Capulet’s view on love stands out the most. They all show different types of standard people can have when it comes to love without considering what Juliet really feels.

For Lady Capulet, love is all about how wealthy the person is. She has told her daughter to marry Paris, he is one of Prince Escalus’ kinsman, therefore, marrying him would make the Capulets wealthier. As Lady Capulet states in their house when she introduced the idea of marrying Paris to Juliet, “So shall you share all that he doth possess/ By having him, making yourself no less.”(1.3.95-96). This indicates that if Juliet was to marry Paris, all of his possessions would also be her’s and that she would not lose anything by marrying

Just after Romeo left Verona, Juliet finds out that her father planned her wedding with Paris.When Juliet asked for advice whether she should marry Paris or not, the nurse said, “I think it best you married with the County. O, he’s a lovely gentleman! Romeo’s a dishclout to him.” (3.5.217-219). The nurse suggests that Juliet should just marry Paris, he’s good looking and Romeo is nothing compared to him anyway.
