The waltz, performed in triple time by a couple. Triple time, meaning three beats in every group of notes. The dancers continuously rotate around, and perform at the beginning of every dance. One of the many concepts that makes ballroom dancing difficult consists of rhythm. One of the rhythms is slow and flowing, and the other is fast and bouncy (Underwood 1). There is usually a follower and a leader during ballroom dancing. The follower usually consists of the women and the leader usually consists of the man. During the dance the dancers cannot communicate through speech they need communicate using their bodies. Using their bodies to communicate could be very difficult, if one thinks the other messed up, they could pull each other different ways. Keeping up with the fast paced rhythms could make the competition very tough. When dancers need a break they go to the forum, which is where they also receive information.
