Different Forms Of Animal Cruelty

Great Essays
Another form of animal cruelty is something I had never heard of until recently. It is called crush videos or a crush fetish. It doesn’t sound too bad until you read what it actually is and then your head will explode. The Wikipedia (2016) definition is, “A fetish and paraphilia in which one is sexually aroused when someone crushes object, food, and sometimes small animals with their body, usually under their foot, or when crushed oneself.” If you thought sexual deviance was bad, this is off the chart. Now, this isn’t as popular as other paraphilia’s and in many states it is against the law just like other animal cruelties but it doesn’t stop everyone. These videos graphically show women beating, burning, and killing small animals, usually …show more content…
We know now that there is a link between animal cruelty and sexual deviance but we need to make more people aware that this is still happening and we need to help the people that still think this is acceptable. I believe we need to conduct a research where we find people who have either committed forms of sexual deviance with animals or who have thought about it and separate them into two categories. We then should get a neurological team to set everyone up with some form of headband to receive their brainwave activity. We should then follow through with asking them questions that relate to animals and how they see them in their eyes. By doing this we may be able to see what is happening in their brain as to what gets triggered when we start talking about animals and sexual deviance. We could also ask them if they see this as animal cruelty or if they think it is somehow justified. This research, if successful, could open many doors for people who are in need of guidance in the right direction. We could start a rehab center for people with this problem or who believe they have this problem. It can be one of those places that do not force you to go to or stay at unless they are an extreme case. With more research, more applications and policies could be put out to help animals in these situations and also help people. Overall, I believe we need to put out laws that ban animal sexual assault and if found doing this disgraceful crime they should be sent to the rehab centers or jail if nothing else works. Just like other animal cruelty cases where we have made shelters for those people to go to when their loved one is harming them and the animal, we need to make places where the ones doing the crime or sexual act can go to receive help, especially if this is not something they want to continue in their life. Many of these people may not know what

Growing up I was always an animal lover and I still am. When I hear that human beings treat non-human beings less it really rips me apart. “It is said that the Puritans banned bearbaiting, not because of the pain it caused the bears but because of the pleasure it gave the onlookers” (Sandel 53). This quote shows that individuals get pleasure out of seeing the animals suffer in pain during animal cruelty. To advocate for animal cruelty I decided to do my volunteer hours at Pawmetto Lifeline animal shelter.…
