Between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, you would find Mesopotamia, which had little to no natural protection. Egypt was created on the Nile river in Africa, protected by a desert to keep out outside invaders. Both cultures were located in a river valley but had different environments. Although the two civilizations are different in the area of environment and geography, nevertheless the two civilizations have significant similarities with regard to society and economics, and science and technology.
