Because of this view on life, they believe that you must do good things in order to bring goodness to Him and yourself. Catholicism is very sacramental; they believe that people must go to church in order to “receive Jesus” (Glatz). In contrast, Protestantism is very devotional; they believe that you can worship God and feel His presence anywhere, not just in a church. Also to Catholics, the Pope is believed to be a direct speaker of God. They feel that the Bible is only one way in which God shares His Word with the world.
