In 1970 president Nixon made an announcement "that more than 150,000 soldiers were going to be sent to Vietnam. Kent State University protesters ignited the ROTC building, to make their stand against people being forcefully drafted into the Vietnam war. On May 4, 1970: 28 officers attacked a crowd with a firearm and started shooting the protesters of the crowd murdering four students and injuring nine. Instead of getting better they were getting worse around the country. Almost 500 colleges/universities were discontinued and dismantled, because of all the protest. Justice seemed to have been served when some of the officers were charged, but dismissed because, no reasonable evidence was found in the case. The Boston Massacre involved two different countries fighting over the love of money. Were as Kent University was about their freedom of choice and protest being violated and taken away violently by their own country. The students at Kent were protesting treatment by their own country. In comparison a type of Laissez-Faire would have been deemed necessary, since freedom of speech and press were taken away to some extent.
