Differences in Engineering Colleges
Every person that goes to college has to answer the same question: what college should I go to? The answer to this question should reflect a person’s interests in what they want into a college. Sometimes, two colleges focus around the same types of degrees and are very similar in nature. One such instance is with Purdue University and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. Purdue University is a large college in West Lafayette, Indiana. Rose Hulman is a small college in Terre Haute, Indiana. Although both of these colleges focus around engineering and technology degrees, the colleges have some key differences that can influence a person’s decision when he or she is choosing a college.

Purdue University features wireless network that is available campus wide (“Purdue University - College Board,” 2014.). At Purdue, there are a total of 1137 public computers available in the Computer Center, dorms, libraries, and the Student Center (“Purdue University - College Board,” 2014.). There are plenty of public computers available as well as a wireless network for people with their own computer. Rose Hulman also features campus wide wireless networks (“Rose Hulman Institute of Technology - College Board,” 2014.). Rose Hulman offers computer repair service on campus (“Rose Hulman Institute of Technology - College Board,” n.d). Technology at each colleges is both current and widely available. Purdue offers coed housing, men’s housing, women’s housing, housing for married students, housing for single students, fraternity/sorority housing, housing for disabled students, and wellness housing (“Purdue University - College Board,” 2014.). Purdue has many different housing choices to choose from. They support just about any kind of person that would like to go to college there. Housing facilities are kept in “top notch” condition (James, 2014). Dorms are kept in good condition when students are not living in them, so when a new student moves in, they will have the option to keep the room clean. Rose Hulman offers coed housing, men’s housing, apartments for single students, fraternity/sorority housing, and theme housing (“Rose Hulman Institute of Technology - College Board,” 2014.). Rose Hulman doesn’t offer as many options as Purdue, but they do offer a variety of options for housing. Dorms are wired for access to campus-wide network as well as high speed internet (“Rose Hulman Institute of Technology - College Board,” 2014.).
