Being an avid book reader, and lover, I read many books over the summer. The one I will write about today is “The Maze Runner” by James Dashner. I choose to read this book over the summer because one day, when I was watching The Maze Runner movie, I realized that I had never read the book. With my past experiences with books turned to movies, the books where always better, in many ways. With that in mind I wanted to see if it was also true for, “The Maze Runner”. And as I was reading, “The Maze Runner”, I realized that the book, was in fact, different than the movie. Here is what the book is about.

Every hero goes through a journey cycle, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, et cetera et cetera. Each of these heroes’ journey cycle has an effect on the theme of their respective stories as well as helping to develop their plots. James Dashner’s novel, The Maze Runner, helps express this statement as Dashner utilizes the hero’s journey in order to introduce and develop the theme of his novel, while employing the hero’s journey in a way that helps form his plot in an intriguing way. James Dashner makes use of the hero’s journey cycle in his novel, “The Maze Runner”, to form key plot components including the exposition, the climax, and the resolution. In “The Maze Runner”, Dashner uses the departure stage of a hero’s journey cycle to create the exposition for his novel, starting by allowing readers to obtain the setting, the protagonist, and the internal conflict of the protagonist in his novel through the “beginning of the adventure”, a vital step in the departure stage of a hero’s journey cycle (Dashner Pgs. 1-3).…

I think in the film and novel versions of The Outsiders were very different because the music created a mood that did not fit with the mood the novel portrayed, and one of the characters was portrayed very differently in the movie, and a second character was portrayed very differently, and we didn’t love Johnny as much in the movie.…

The theme of losing a battle to win a war does relate to today’s teenager. For instance, I had to give up five dollars last week , to get ten dollars the this week. I gave my sister five dollars so she could buy her a new wallet; after that she got paid and gave me my five dollars back and then another five dollars for giving her some money when she needed it. I started with losing my five dollars but ended up with a win of ten dollars. Also, in one of my favorite books, The Maze Runner, James Dashner writes his character to lose everything but their name and then dumps them in a hole with only one way out.…

Blade runner has become a classic in sci-fi genre The directed by Ridley Scott who also directed movies like alien gladiator Blackhawk down and and the recent the Martian but the most interesting thing about blade runner is that neither release Scott nor the screenwriter David peoples ever never read Philip K Dick's novel do androids dream electric sheep the book that the movie is based on so unfortunately Philip K Dick died before the full movie was actually released he said he did see the first 20 minutes and stated O "it was my own interior world and they caught it perfectly" so without ever reading the book somehow Ridley Scott was able to make exactly what Philip K Dick imagine when writing the book but how long he was blade runner? What's the difference? In this comparison I will be using the final cut of the movie because this is considered the most efficient version comparison to the movie The Chinese look and feeling of the environment was a movie on addiction it wasn't implement it in the book many names is also changed during the transfer from text to film most of them getting an upgrade the biggest upgrade being the title from do Androids dream electric sheep to just blade runner which is…

In the Hunger Games, the most important similarities the movie shared with the book was making Peeta initiate the idea of him and Katniss being lovers. This is so significant because, without this, most of the main events in the book and movie would never have taken place. For one, this angle would have left Katniss to be just another face in the crowd, not making her stand out, which also meant fewer sponsors, decreasing her chances of survival. However, the most important reason for this is because Katniss would have left Peeta to die when he needed her the most and she would not have been able to plant the small seeds of defiance against the capital. In the movie and novel, the games take a surprising turn when an announcement goes out that…

In this paper, the texts “1984” by George Orwell and “The Maze Runner” by James Dashner will be compared and analysed, in specific the language and stylistic features used to portray the different perspectives on the ideas of oppression and helplessness. The point of view of “Big Brother” and the theme of higher power are vastly used in both of these texts, along with both the conforming and rebelling point of views, all of which will be examined in this paper. In both novels, “1984” and “The Maze Runner”, a “Big Brother” point of view is portrayed through language and stylistic features in the texts, and these techniques show how this unknown and seemingly mysterious higher power can manipulate and control the characters. The key similarity…
