In this scenario conflict from role ambiguity can be reduced simply by setting specific tasks for every member of the organization. Peter Smith should only have been focusing on providing emotional support to the members of the organization. He should have had nothing to do with any financial decisions because he is not qualified for that task. Both Peter Smith and Keith Schmidt should have taken an integrative approach and focused “on commonalties rather than differences” (“Lewicki, R. & Barry, B.”, 2011). The commonalities would have been a clear passion for the organization, and the need to expand the museum in order to share their love of art with more members of the local community.
