Uniform Vs School Uniform Essay

There are multiple differences and even a few similarities between a dress code with no school uniform and a dress code with a school uniform. Both schools with no uniform and schools with a uniform have a set of rules that prohibit certain clothing from being worn. According to the Warren East High School Student Handbook (2016), Students who repeatable break the dress code must have their parents bring them appropriate clothes and they could even spend the rest of the day in Alternate Learning Center. This is a classroom that is for students who repeatedly break school rules. On the other hand, according to the Bowling Green Christian Academy Student Handbook (2016), if a student is not in uniform they office sends a letter home for the parents to sign and they may even give repeat offenders a 30 minute after-school detention for not wearing the school uniform.
In a school with no uniform the students are not allowed to wear anything that promotes gangs, drugs, guns, sex, or anything that is considered offensive to others. According to the Bowling Green Christian Academy (2016), “schoolwear can be purchased at any store that carries school uniforms such as: J.C. Penny, Andersons, Sears, Meijer, Wal-Mart, etc.”. Walmart clothing is extremely inexpensive for regular clothes, and it is even cheaper when it comes to buying school uniforms. When more schools implement uniforms it will cause competition between stores and this will result in even cheaper clothing costs. These how implementing school uniforms will actually save families more money in the long run compared to how much money they will spend on clothing if their child’s school does not have a school
