Richard Nixon resigned on August 8th, 1974, he was the first president to ever resign in U.S presidency. If he did not resign he was going to be impeached. There was enough evidence against Nixon in the Watergate scandal that he had no other choice than to resign. Evidence showed that Nixon tried to cover up the events at the Democratic headquarters in the Watergate office. His two choices regarding the evidence against him was to either resign or to be impeached. Nixon decided to resign before he was impeached.
Bill Clinton was considered to be a good president, there was no evidence that showed him to be impeached until the sex scandal with a white house employee, named Monica Lewinsky. After that event, Clinton was impeached with two charges,
