Gender Miscommunication

Other than appearance, there are many differences that put women and men aside from each other. They can grow up in the same household and still be different. Or be raised by one parent either only a mom or only a dad but still they are different. The way a man and a woman communicate, or how they express their feelings and their choices in entertainment can be very different and lead to misunderstanding but, sometimes it opens up pathways to learn new things.
It can be the way they were raised or maybe just the way they think people are supposed to look at them. I’m guilty of this sometime, I apologize to people when I ask for a favor. For example, “I’m sorry but can I borrow a pen” and I know there isn’t anything that I’ve done bad but it’s just a way to get on good terms with people or start a conversation. Guys on the other hand have a different way of communicating sometimes they joke around to start a conversation. Like I notice my dad tell his friends or his brother “damn you’re getting old,” and that led on to a longer conversation. Men can also be more direct they things without any compassion. They just say thing that are on their mind not aware that it might hurt someone’s feelings. Like when a woman asks a man if she’s fat and she does look fat a man will answer yes. It’s not always a bad thing though, because sometimes a man will give you helpful criticism in the workplace or school and a woman will not because she is afraid of hurting your feelings.

Most men like to watch sports and fights more than woman do. Men also enjoy fishing and hunting. Most woman will enjoy shopping, doing their hair and nails or just hanging out with other girls. Men would rather go to a hardware store or sports store while a woman would rather go to a clothing store or shoe store or a home goods store. Woman would rather decorate their home while the men find something to fix or break. Men also will roughhouse as a way of entertainment. For example, you see men fight or wrestle to entertain each other. Woman don’t do this and won’t be able to do it because they will take it to personal and end up fighting for real. Another means of entertainment that is different between them is movies or shows. Woman like to watch love stories, rom-coms, or dramas. Men would rather watch action, comedy, or cartoons. When I watch lifetime my boyfriend complains and asks if he can change the channel or he will go to the living room and watch UFC fights. Men don’t mind getting dirty or sweaty and most of the things they do for entertainment involves getting dirty or sweating, which is why woman sometimes wouldn’t join them. When you go to a park and see all the people in the basketball courts they are usually men or when you drive by a golf course it’s always full of men. But when you go to the mall it’s a lot of woman.
