What Is Shared Knowledge

Shared knowledge is the knowledge you learn with a group of people, such as your classmates in school, about a certain subject or topic. The content taken in the IB course Environmental systems and societies is an example of shared knowledge since it is knowledge a group of environmentalists or scientists have researched and wrote about and shared for others to learn from. Shared knowledge is general knowledge, or common knowledge that is shared between a large numbers of people.

Personal knowledge is the knowledge that individuals have learnt themselves through experiences, skills and through practice and habits. Personal knowledge would be knowledge you gain from your feelings or emotions towards something. An example of that would be a fight you and your friend have over something then you gain personal knowledge from that experience through your feelings and emotions.
