These are some reasons why the book and the movie are the same. First, the characters sodapop , ponyboy, Johnny, dally and others where the same as in the book there characters, the socs were still the same cruel and mean, and when Johnny, ponyboy,and two-bit walked Marcia and cherry home that happened as well, in the movie dally had brown hair instead blondish.Secondly, they showed that Johnny's parents fought physically in the movie, they showed when the church caught on fire and they saved those kids, also the movie showed when they went to the hospital to visit Johnny when he was sick, they also showed when Johnny' killed bob.
