War creates turmoil, death, and destruction. Does having a dictator leading your country a wise thing to have? That is what these two leaders caused during this period of World War II. When the invasion of the Soviet Union started everything started out with no issues. The “Blitzkriek” was in full swing and that was how the German army swiftly overcame their enemies. The trial for this type of operation all started in the last 30’s when Hitler tried to conquer all of Europe, and it was successful. In this paper I will be explain the differences between Hitler and Stalin and who was successful during this time.

Adolf Hitler’s believes prior to the takeover over of the government in the 30’s was fueled by the loss of the Great War and the Jewish citizens that he believed were root of all evil. He was no better than Hitler when it came to the brutal acts of war. After the Germans invaded their lands, destruction ruled over the eastern region all the way to Stalingrad. The Germans had them on the run until the weather turned for the worse. In the height of the battle, the weather took a turn for the worst and the German army was in full retreat. This didn’t stop the Russian soldiers from perusing and crushing the Third Riech. As the soviet troops moved from their homeland, they raped, murdered and pillaged towns along the way. No one is clear on if it was orders from their leaders or Stalin

The tactical mistake of Operation Barbarossa was thought to be a Blitzkrieg or ‘lightning war’ as explained in ‘Inside the Third Reich’, “You only have to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down – Hitler” (Speer, 1984). Supporters of Nazi Germany expected a quick victory, as written in Joseph Goebbels’s diary entry (see appendix 2). Germany was seen as unbeatable - as evident in Macha Rolnika’s diary (see appendix 3) where she expressed her fear towards the Nazis - hence their loss to the USSR stripped Germany of its dignity and optimism. The USSR’s relations with Germany deteriorated the moment Operation Barbarossa began with the break in the non-aggression pact (see appendix 4). Weaker nations such as Belgium were fearful that the USSR’s strength might threaten their independence.…

Comparing Two Men in History The two people I have chosen to compare are Adolf Hitler and Genghis Khan because they are both people who did bad things that affect many people, and did things that lead to war, and involved killing a bunch of people, both ended up dead or being killed for what they did. Adolf Hitler was born in Austria on April 20, 1889 and then when he was three years old he and his family had moved to Germany, and from 1933-1945 he was the chancellor and was dictator from 1934-1945 (Adolf Hitler Biography, Bio.com). At the outbreak of World War 1 he actually applied for military service in the German army, and even though he wasn’t on the frontlines he did participate in many battles and had got injured in the battle…

Arthur Miller once said, “ever since Stalin and the Nazis, reality has transcended fiction;” through this he meant that since these extremely horrible events, the world has changed and anything is possible. Fiction books show horrible leaders who hope to create a perfect world by killing anyone who is different from their perfect image. However, Stalin and Nazi were not the start of this ideology because people have been killing others who are different long before them, such as during the Colonization Era. The colonizers were killing the indigenous people who were unlike them. Therefore, Stalin and the Nazis were not the start of this ideology, but they were the start of the world realizing how awful people can be.…

Hitler did look up to stalin because he thought of him just as a clerk but nothing more than a clerk and was amazed he came into power. Stalin was a communist, he wanted work in his community to support the war and believed everyone should be treated fairly but it's kind of hypocritical because he slaughters most of his people because he was paranoid. Meanwhile Hitler was a capitalist and wanted to keep certain people in charge of the jobs. He believed in social Darwinism or some might also know it as survival of the fittest. Stalin was a communist because of the way he was raised, Hitler was a capitalist because he always had to work and rely on himself to get what he wanted or needed for him…

This is true, however people do not think of what happened after the war. Yes, Hitler did have the biggest genocide ever, but people often forget that Hitler was not active in the years following World War II. Up until his death, Stalin had more people die from his own hands and people die because of his actions than anyone in the world, this includes his own people this makes him the worst dictator in history. Under Stalin’s rule, there were many mass killings by the communist government. Stalin imposed a plan to get rid of middle class farms and make the peasant farmers go to state run farms to provide for the Soviet Union.…

Martin Luther King Jr. had the same preliminary traits as Joseph Stalin. They both had the charisma to lead thousands upon thousands of devotees, as well as the persuasiveness to coax said followers to carry out the needed actions to sustain their movement. The determination, intelligence and directness were foundations upon which both men built their party, so what is the difference between the two? King cared for the common good, while Stalin was only interested in power for the sake of having it. The distinction between these two motivators is the difference between a leader and a dictator.…
