They work for long hours while having to work in stressful environments. An example is shown in the Sound of Music, difficulties with a helicopter made it impossible for them to film. Some days they work day other days they work nights. They have to deal with changes in weather or having to deal with filming in bad weather. If the weather is dangerous they have to call of production until the weather has cleared. They often work on one assignment for one to six months. They generally work irregular hours. They frequently have to travel to different locations. It is important to arrive early to make sure everyone is safe or to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Producer often have more of a long term job when they work in television. Television series usually last more than a one season if they are successful. This means that the producer will have a long term job. They still have to promote and pitch the series to the networks. Producers often share their task with other producers which are called co-producers. There are multiple directors in a television series. They might use a director more than one but often they use different directors for each episode. Directors do not have the responsibility to hire cast or have the right to make final decisions on who is casted.
