The movie shows many examples of how India is so different from America. The first example is how they have different accent and pronunciation. They also have old cars and many are poor. Not only that but they don 't have safety like the trains they are full and they had to run to get on. Their food is differently and hard for Americans to adapt. The big difference was that they didn 't have toilet paper and unbelievable they have to wipe themselves with their left hand. They have different holidays like the Holi celebration which is celebrating colors. They are more close to their family; they basically live with their mom until marriage. They have their parents choose their husband when they are really young. They are really friendly they will get close to you like the boy in the train how he just sat on Todd’s lap. How they wash their clothes and also how they are not feminist or masculine everyone in India does anything. They also have different workplace in America you will never see a cow by a company. The girls wear a third eye and Americans don’t, they believe it 's to see what they can 't really see like reality. Finally, they might be different culture but they are humans and everyone eventually accept others

In a world becoming increasingly saturated in media, the narratives of many different cultures are spreading throughout the world, and have a greater influence as people across the globe have access to these narratives. What happens, though, when the stories the world knows about a culture are told exclusively through the eyes of foreigners? Can an outsider really know enough about another culture to tell a complex, realistic narrative about the people they are trying to represent? Too often, the Western world has a disproportionate amount of influence over the narratives of other cultures, causing stories about cultures in Africa and the Eastern world to be overflowing with stereotypes, and offensive portrayals of the people who live there. Western story tellers have the tendency to inaccurately depict foreign cultures to make them fit their own simplified perception of them, and in doing so, further strengthen the power structures already at play in the world.…

Throughout the films I have watched this semester, American Indians have been constructed and represented in many different ways. Different films in different eras have led to stereotyping American Indians and poorly portraying the construction of American Indian life. At the beginning of this semester, films portrayed American Indians as savages who could not kill a Cowboy, but at the end of the semester, that stereotype changed into American Indians represented as helpless people who cannot be rescued from the alcoholism and distress found on reservations. The ways the American Indians are portrayed in these films create an image that Americans see in today's society. In the first films viewed in class, Americans were entertained through…

Definition Generally, cultural appropriation is viewed as the use of a cultural tradition while simultaneously disregarding the cultural significances and specific purposes. To many this is viewed as problematic because it can capitalize a tradition and make it lose its significance among its own culture and especially outside the culture. In the book Who Owns Culture? Appropriation and Authenticity in American Law, the author Susan Scafidi focuses on defining the ownership and appropriation of cultures.…

Outsourcing is when an industry looks to get a good or service from a country outside of its base of operations. This is done typically in one of two ways, the first is using services and people to perform tasks that you do not want to perform in house such as book keeping and back office work such as answering phones or online technical support. The second is using manufacturing plants in other countries in order to lower the cost of labor and capital required to lease out the land for the plants that produce those goods. Outsourcing typically sacrifices something in order to receive the benefits associated with it. Are these sacrifices worth the gains made by outsourcing?…

It is known throughout the entire world that, on September 11th, 2001, the Twin Towers in New York City were downed by two planes, allegedly having been hijacked by people from a terrorist organization in Afghanistan, called Al Qaeda. Regardless of any one person 's opinion on what had happened, the following had ensued: a nearly ten years long war in the Middle East, namely Iraq and Afghanistan, that had disbanded the army of an entire country, and destabilized the region both economically and socially. When the United States entered Iraq in 2003, the army had, almost immediately, toppled the Hussein government. Then, following that, either President Bush or someone in his administration declared for the dissolution the the Iraqi army. That…

Outsourcing, a process of hiring another individual or company, either domestically or internationally, to handle the business activities for the firm. At this era, it is no longer an option as much as it is a necessity and has become a common business practice that allows small and medium size businesses to gain extra services and skills that are usually hard for them to develop due to shortage of manpower or financial restrictions, or maybe both. It allows the firms to be more focus on their core competencies, rather than tying up considerable company funds in something that can easily and cost effectively be done somewhere else and, more importantly, it will surely help the firm to cut the costs and improve their performances efficiently…
