Frank, she would do nearly anything to get out of that cramped up annex and be away from her family to be alone for awhile and enjoy the outside. In the play anger builds up inside Anne that has to do with her feelings about being crowded in an annex. In spite of this she releases it on her mother hatefully. On the other hand, Eli would do anything to have another day to spend alone with his whole family, out of Auschwitz. This is because he was separated from his mother and two sisters when he was first ordered into a concentration camp, and his father at the time had been ill. Instead of breaking down any of his family members like Anne broke down her mother, he thrives to keep his father from being separated from him and dying.
In conclusion, Anne was more fortunate in all aspects of life during the holocaust, yet didn’t take much advantage of her resources. Although Elli was less fortunate, he still made the most of everything he had and never lost hope. Since Ellie suffered more than Anne, the book “Night” has given me more of a sense of what happened during the holocaust, so I prefer it over the play “The Diary of Anne Frank.” Therefore, the book “Night” is much more involved in the what happened during the holocaust than the Diary of Anne Frank play and I recommend reading it over watching the
