A utopian society is where individuals are free to do whatever they want. In the text “Brave new World” written by Aldous Huxley the government controls their people by conditioning them from a young age, controlling them with drugs and pleasure and by removing outliers or people with the slightest indications of individuality. In the text the whole world is under the control of 10 world controllers creating the “world state”.
Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are …show more content…
And they are conditioned to think, “a gram is better than a damn” (pg. 89), they shouldn’t get upset or sad and if that is to happen a gram of soma is the solution. Mustafa Mond, a world creator, said without negativity or negative emotions there will be no social instability (pg. 105). With that he means that no one will be able to have their own thoughts. And after a while when they begin to feel and act different the “world state” realizes and acts on it. “Talking about her as though she were a bit of meat” (pg.40). The characters disagree about how they were living their lives. They were different than the others and were treated differently. “(The physical defective Bernard suffered all his life from the consciousness of being separate)” (pg. 67) Bernard is smaller than an actual alpha even though he is one while his good friend is exactly the opposite, Helmholtz is taller than an average alpha and also more intelligent. When the world controller tells them that they will be sent to an island with “others”. In the “world state” people who demonstrate individuality are exiled so that they cannot affect other citizens with traitorous their ideas and
