British police conducted a pat down on two individual while they faced the officers face to face. In the US, police would see themselves safe because the officers are issued a few weapons one of them being a gun. While the British police they are not given guns because of their gun restrictions. I found this to be quite a culture shock in a way because here in the US we usually see are police with their gun strapped to their hips and ready to go. The British seem to be able to establish a relationship and gain the individuals trust. This seems to be a key factor in the growth of how they conduct things in their country and are able to keep order. This example can help teach the US that education in their officers is big and should be highly required. Now an example of how the British can learn from the US police is by being able to practice safety so no one is injured or killed while at work. In the US police officers ask an individual to turn around and not face the officer because they do not know if one may be armed or not. This helps to lower the risk of an attack. In the US police instruct the person who is in booking to walk in front of the officer with their fingers interlaced and their hands behind their back. The British seem to fail in this aspect in my eyes because in the video shown in class it shows that they conduct searches on individuals while facing the individual as well as walking in front of a person who is in booking and walking like it’s no big deal. In the US this would be a huge red flag for the safety of the officers and colleagues. In conclusion, the differences we may see in parts of the world can become a culture shock for some for example the British
