We can apply STANDPOINT THEORY to this interaction between Noah and Allie. Allie finds herself in love with two very different people. Noah, who was her first love, and was the one that her family didn’t approve of because they felt that he was “trash” and not “suitable” for her. Lon, who is her current love and fiancé, and happens to be very wealthy and the type of man that her family finds suitable for her. Allie is in love with both men but doesn’t know what she is going to do or how she will pick between the man with the social status that she knows her family approves of and wants for her or picking the man that her family has already decided wasn’t good enough for her.…

The play, Romeo and Juliet, takes place in 15th century Italy. Relationships in the 1600s are very different than modern relationships between couples today. People got married earlier and younger, most marriages were arranged, and marriages were mostly based on the family’s wealth and reputation. In today’s time in America, most marriages and relationships are not arranged, people usually don’t jump into marriages anymore, and relationships are now based on similar interests and attraction instead of the family’s wealth. By comparing and contrasting dating practices, the reader will gain a better understanding of how couples behaved in the 15th century and modern couples of today.…

Romeo and Juliet's relationship, one that their parents would not approve of, leads down a road that results in many bad events. The two young lovers are bad influences on each other, their love for each other causes them to make reckless decisions: Romeo climbs over the high stone walls around juliet’s orchard just to see her, and if he is caught he will be killed(Act II, Scene I). The couple’s risk taking behavior results in them trying to make a hopeless relationship work. Both teenagers are too quick to advance as lovers, kissing within minutes of meeting and making out even though they have hardly spoken, and as Juliet says, “My ears have yet not drunk a hundred words Of that tongue's utterance,”(Act II, scene II). To top it off…

In Conclusion, I think that Romeo is a young, inexperienced and impatient but loyal and brave boy. I think that his naivety plays a huge rule in this because love was taken as an extravagant feeling to have when it was not truly happy as the lovers can experience heartbreak and many other obstacles. It seems as if Romeo only more cautious and deliberate, his devastating ending could have been prevented (even though we have not finished the book yet). Amongst friends especially Mercutio, Romeo shows signs of his social and quick witted persona, even with his fond of verbal jousting that is mainly about sex. Lastly, Romeo is like every other male in the world who only unveils their true self to the people who they trust or who understand them.…

Adolescents and Inexperience cause an Untimely Death Romeo and Juliet are children when they fall in love, and too young when they decide to take their own life. The story of Romeo and Juliet and their “untimely death” is caused by their inexperience, their eagerness, their curiosity and mainly their youth. Every action they undergo they are just too young to for. It is understandable though, they are teenagers and teenagers are very spontaneous, but their age is not the only thing to blame. Friar Lawrence is responsible for some of Romeo and Juliet’s actions…

Romeo and Juliet rush to get married after their first meeting. For example, when Romeo and Juliet are meeting in the orchard, Juliet says, “Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed./If that thy bent of love be honorable,/ Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow,/By one that I’ll procure to come to thee,/Where and what time thou wilt perform the rite;/And all my fortunes at thy foot I’ll lay/And follow thee my lord throughout the world”(2.2.142-148). Although Romeo and Juliet just met earlier that night, Juliet is already proposing and confessing her love to him. This is unexpected, considering their time span of knowing each other. Shakespeare uses this to amplify the audiences emotions of love and warmth towards the characters.…
