A similarity that was in both “Harrison Bergeron ‘’ and 2081 is that there are handicaps controlling the “better people’’. The filmmaker kept this element because the handicaps kept everyone equal. Being equal is the main part of the story. In the story, it says “And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental cap in his ear” (pg. 1). In the movie, George’s radio buzzes, and his flashbacks go away. This is important because George is more highly intelligent than other people, like his wife Hazel. That is why George has handicaps.
