Also, we found that relationship for older adults were more about bond. This statistics agreed with the results of table 1 above. Bond was found to be meaningful for older adults because this is the stage where health issues, death of friends occurred, which makes older adults more conscious about having someone to lean on and not take friends for granted (Field, 1999).

We also found that age of participants had an impact on their relationships. The statistics demonstrated that younger adult is prone to make a great quantity of friends because they are in a stage where diversified friendships are how they acquired knowledge of themselves and their environment (Arnett, 2000). The theoretical implication is that young adults perceive having a great amount of friends as an exchange of knowledge. We could also imply that this is an important process in the maturation of young adults. This implication also gives an idea of why for older adults friendship is more about quality than quantity. Since older adults are finished maturing, there is no need to go after a great number of friends. After all, at this stage of their lives, the ability for older adults to make new friends
