Time management is important to a leader for the reason that leaders must focus on the urgent matters and allotting time for each task to be completed. Being organized is crucial to time management. I completed a self-assessment for my time management a found that I may needed some work in certain areas. The assessment indicate key components to time management. Nurses can influence our occupation by paying courtesy to legislation that is announced and by contacting our elected representatives to voice our opinions, whether they are positive or negative. What nurses do in the political arena may potentially impacts patients, those who need immediate attention and those who do not but may need it at another time.
Knowing difference between leadership and management is insightful. Because then you know the keys skills of leadership. I do think that some skills can be taught, but some skills have to be within the person. Leader is willing to take risk and enjoys seeing the greater good.
