I believe that, like the audience in the TV show, it’s more of a de facto selective exposure. There’s more information that confides with the general public than ever before. So hearing something like that is completely out of the norm. On to Persuasion, this message is defiantly a central route. It persuaded people to think critically. The audience, even myself, receiving this message really thought about what the messenger is saying. We had to think about the true merits of what the source was saying and had to think about it. I’m sure many the audience members sought out further information. On to the source himself, the character Will Mcavoy seemed to be of high credibility. He was a news anchor that never spoke only on behalf of one party. He was a favorable image for many reasons. He was very confidante in his speaking and he was objectively attractive and likeably. He spoke the truth regardless of what others thought. His answer for most questions was about the New York Jets. He didn’t play around with demeaning questions. He wanted to speak about the truth and backed up his truth with real world facts and that’s why so many people in the audience listened to him. No one interrupted him or even spoke when he was speaking. So I would define him a credibly
