Wolves and coyotes both reside within the canidae family but both differ in many ways. Coyotes and Gray wolves have always been thought of as the same animal, but they are more different than people think. When someone takes the time to really dig deep into the details they can clearly see the differences between them. Someone can’t just say that Coyotes and Gray wolves are the same when actually they’re completely different. The differences between wolves and coyotes include appearance, behaviour, and their location.

They are also different in their color patterns. Wolves and Coyotes can come in very different colors. Although, it is most confusing between Gray wolves and coyotes since they both share a pale gray coat. They share a similar coat but there are still differences. Coyotes are more of a brown than a gray and have a lighter coat. Gray wolves are generally more darker and more gray than coyotes are. Wolves can also be more of a black color or have some white patches mainly around their chest and legs. Although this, of course, is just lightly scraping the surface of all the differences there are. Coyotes and wolves have many feature differences between them. When looking at their snouts it can be seen that a coyote’s snout is slender and pointed. A wolf's snout will be blocky and much more broad than a coyotes. When examining their ears it is clear to see even more of a difference. Wolves ears are rounded and smaller in proportion to their heads. Coyotes ears are much more pointed and larger in proportion to their head than wolves. While there are lots of differences in their appearance this isn’t where their differences
