The least important factors were: reception desk duties, typic duty officer activities, acting as a chief of service, supporting riot squads, and updating social media (Steden, Miltenburg, & Boutellier, 2015). Legitimacy can be improved when law enforcement is able to do what the community believes is important. There is likely to be a difference in what the community thinks is important; surveys would be a way that law enforcement can discover how best to serve their citizens.
