Akers and Bandura although from different prospective believed basically the same thing. Social Learning theory and Social Cognitive Theory overlap in some ways but there based on different assumptions. One is based on Sociologic perspective. The other a psychological perspective.
Social learning theory combines cognitive learning with behavioral learning. Example, whatever a child observes they act out.
There are several advantages to Social learning. Belonging connects community and there is a feeling of acceptance and support. Environment creates openness and respect. Friendships cultivate and nurture relationships. Kindness prevents bullying, it powers people forward in challenging times. Curiosity is the willingness to explore new territory and test new theories, open opportunity. Confidence is thinking independent and expressing ideas with assurance. It builds hope in children. Courage can be practiced or learned by overcoming obstacles, take risks. Hope is optimistic thinking and believing.
