27 September 2017 Compare and Contrast between Singing and Painting
Considering the art scene globally, music and painting come across as the most visible arts that most people can relate. “Singing, the production of musical tones by means of the human voice. In its physical aspect, singing has a well-defined technique that depends on the use of the lungs, which act as an air supply, or bellows; on the larynx.” “Painting, the expression of ideas and emotions, with the creation of certain aesthetic qualities, in a two-dimensional visual language.” Painting and singing have quite some similarities and much more difference considering their various states; physical and mental. The painting also comes along in various forms such as drawing, using actual paint to create art pieces and other out of this world processes artists have created paintings. Singing, on the other hand, is often a mental process when it comes to creating the songs then comes to a physical process of doing the actual singing which in most cases depends on the singer's abilities. When a musician creates a song for the audience, he or she is limited in the presentation of the art which means that the public is only allowed to interpret the music within a certain range in time; unless one decides to take their time replaying the music later for more interpretation. Artists, however, are not limited to the presentation whereby the audience can view the paintings for as long as they wish, and this allows the artist to express himself in the art quite clearly since they are not limited. Here, it is also quite clear in the presentation that the audience during a physical performance gets to temporarily experience the music for just a moment, unlike painting
