Pop, Rock, and Country music has changed a lot throughout the decades especially since the 1970’s and 80’s compared to 2016 music.
Obviously I wasn’t born yet so all this research is from family members, the internet or conversations with people in local music shops. In the 70’s and 80’s you had a lot of good bands and musicians such as Aerosmith, Aero Speed Wagon, Billy Joel and a bunch of others that were great that we could name. The music types most people listened to in the 70’s and 80’s were punk rock, rock and roll, country, hard rock and some disco in the 70’s but it did not last very long. Other subgenres of rock exspecially glam rock, hard rock, progressive, art rock and heavy metal gained a lot of success in the 1970’s era. country

The style is different, the artists are different and what the artist sing about is way different. Nowadays in 2016 hip hop and rap are the most common and most listened to genres of music with famous artist as Drake, Fetty wap, Rhianna and many more. Once declining in popularity R&B and hip-hop climbed its way to the top again in 2013 and has remained the most popular form of music since. Hip hop musicians outside of the United States were also a very popular thing in the early 2010s, with Drake being one of the most successful rappers originating from Canada. Digital music sales in 2012 topped CD sales with ITunes and other music stores online. Although died out Teen pop has made a huge comeback with the likes of Demi Lovato, One Direction, The Wanted, Big Time Rush, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande along with many others. Since 2011 boy bands and girl groups have regained popularity for the first time after the early 2000s. most popular examples being British Irish boy band One Direction and American boy band Big Time Rush. Others started to catch on after the success of them during 2013 and 2014.
