A passion is when you have a great desire to do put time and effort in an activity, object, or an idea; in the hopes of improving. As individuals we all have different passions, and some of these passions can benefit everyone. it’s healthy to have a passion; it keeps you motivated and helps you get away from the crazy world we live in. Having a passion is good but, there comes a point when that passion can become an obsession. An obsession is if you put your activity, object, or idea before anything else. Having an obsession can be in unhealthy and can ruin relationships. Passion and obsession are very similar, yet different in how we interpret them in our mind. Passionate and obsession are very similar in what they represent. First you can be passionate or obsessed about anything. It is possible to be obsessed with a music group or be passionate with the music group. The words are interchangeable in most instances. Second people spent a lot of time and effort on your obsession or passion. When you are passionate about trains or, obsessed with airplanes it takes time to learn all about them. When one uses the word obsession; instead of person controlling it, the obsession can seduce that person any time. When people use the word obsession in conversation, they never say, “That kid had an obsession with English.” The word obsession is mostly used in a negative context, like “that guy was obsessed with drugs,” or “she is obsessed with gambling” as one hears the use of this word with a negative action it changes people personal definition of the word. If one would look in most dictionaries, when they give the example of the word in a sentence it is always use the native context.
