A learning organization falls under the organic characteristic where decision-making authority is decentralized. Organic design characteristics include a decentralized structure, collaborative teamwork, horizontal communication, informality with fewer rules, and empowered roles to perform the necessary tasks of the organization. A small sized business, innovative strategy, changing environment, adaptive culture, and service technology represent the typical contingency factors associated with an organic organizational design (Daft, 2016).
