Ambition is a key part of life. Everyone has at least a little inside them. It is a drive to go forward, take the extra step, be successful. But ambition has been seen as negative or bad by some people. This is a problem as ambition is all so important to humans. We need to differentiate between noble and blind ambition. Blind ambition is a darkness around your mind that clouds your mind of what is right and what is wrong. There is no regard for other people. Sam Griffiths, managing director of Ambition Group, a Tokyo-based recruitment firm, stated, “In Japan, if someone is too outwardly ambitious their colleagues won't work with them”(Griffiths 1). If you worked at a company like McDonalds and you wanted to become the C.E.O that would be an example of ambition. But if you got people fired on purpose and you didn't care about them, that would be an example of blind ambition. …show more content…
His ambition is like a blindfold. He cannot see what he is doing is wrong. The witches tells him that he will be king and his wife drives his ambition. Soon, his wife is worried about Macbeth's ambition as he is going out of control. He wants to stay king no matter what. Even if that means he has to kill everyone. Macbeth is shown losing sanity with this line, “To act in safety. There is none but he” (3.1.60). He doesn't trust Banquo and so he kills him and tries to kill Banquo's sons. Mark Quinn, the London-based leader of talent practice at Mercer, the human resources consulting firm stated, “Ambition is great if it can be channeled appropriately,”(Quinn 2).You don’t want to be blinded by your ambition.
