Now CTE, is often found in athletes who have had some type of repetitive head trauma. Whether football is the main cause of CTE, varies because there are other instances in which someone has developed CTE. For example, former military members, and autistic children, as well as other players who have participated in some type of sport. Recent cases in CTE have been connected to former players from the NFL.
