My Life and My Parents’ Lives
It seems that every family has the same situation, which is that there are different eras between children and parents. There are many areas that show that the different eras have different life styles. Like entertainment, education and pollution, there are many advantages and disadvantages between my parents’ and my life style.
In my parents’ era, there were some advantages for their life styles. There are three aspects that show their life styles. The first advantage is entertainment. They did not have many high technologies in their period, but they still had fun because there were lots of games that were created in their childhood. Sometimes they were playing with their friends in the park and had a lot of

The second aspect is education. Many people in my parents’ period did not need very high education because they had a good skill that helps them to get a good job and they also had many opportunities in their period. With the development of society, they need to constantly upgrade their own knowledge. So they started to learn new skills to help them to adjust to the new times. For example, after my mother graduated from the high school, she started to find a job that counted the money for a small restaurant. So right now, she is an accountant for our family company because she studied the lessons which were developed for a person to be an accountant. The last but not least is pollution. In my parents’ period, the river was clear and the air was not polluted yet. They could play outside every single day. For instance, according to my father’s memory, he told that they never took a shower at home because the river was very clear and he always …show more content…
There are many things that looks good but not like we thinking. First of all, the entertainments have more different things than my parents’ era but it also has unhealthy side effects. With the development of high technologies, many electric products have been created, such as cell phones, laptops and game machines. People do not need to go outside to play the game with their best friends because they play the video games or computer games with their friends on the internet. For example, I have a friend who has a PS4. He always plays the video games with his friends during the breaking time. Sometimes when I go to his place, we play the video game and forget the time. He wears heavy glasses and he has a very weak body. It is not good for people’s health to stay in and play games all day. Next, high education is very important for us. In contrast to my parents’ era, we can find a high salary job with a high education. Not only can you know a lot of knowledge and can do well in this job, but you also need a high diploma. Otherwise, you will not be able to get this job. So many people spend a lot of time in school to get a high diploma for getting a high salary job. For instance, my older cousin graduated high school and did not get in to the university. When he wants to find a good job, he can hardly find it because all of his competitors have high education. He is still unemployed.

Imagine a world where diversity was not relevant. Where white and black people were treated the same. However, that was not the case, the 50s displayed white people much more than black people on TV, but as change within the American Culture occurred from the 50s to the 80s, black people were seen more on TV. Two sitcom comedies; The Cosby Show(1980s), and Father Knows Best (FKB, 1950s) can be compared by connecting each of them to the era in which they aired. As the 1950s sitcom Father Knows Best illustrates a very scripted family lifestyle, the 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show portrays a realistic family, which both demonstrate the culture though their time periods.…

The ways that these changes are influencing people are extremely positive but there will always be a negative person to point out that a few of them have the capacity to be harmful and unwanted. These changes in family are seen most noticeably in the West but are also making their way to the East as well, though at much slower rates. While reading the article “Global Revolution in Family and Personal Life”, it is noted that the author sees the American family as stronger than ever.
