Where do you live? Do you live in a house, an apartment, a trailer, a car, or on the street? Do you live with your parents, your aunt, your uncle, your grandparents, or someone you have no relation to? No matter where you live or what your situation is you can always have a home. It is hard for some to believe that even though they are in an unideal situation that they have a home. People tend to not realize how the feeling we have are to show us what we want and love. The idea of home is a debated one. A home is a place where there is the feeling love, family, laughter, and safety. There are many people do not see a difference in the words “house” and “home”. This is understandable. The official dictionary definition of house and home are very similar. According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, a house is “a building that serves as living quarters for one or a few families”(“Definition of House”) and a home is “one's place of residence”(“Definition of Home”). Dorothy was so desperate to return home. She was not longing for the four walls, windows, doors, and everything else that goes with the structure; no, she was longing for the feeling. She had been reminded of the people she cared about through the people she meant in Oz. Dorothy was missing and longing for her family. She wanted that feeling of safety and love.
