Cultural Difference In Education In Spain

Cultural difference in Education The way students are taught in the United States is different from how students are taught in Spain. In America students go from classroom to classroom for their classes in Spain students stay in the classrooms and the teachers change classrooms. Spain’s outlook on education and their sports in school are way different from how students in the United States view education today. The school week in Spain is very different from how our school system works in the United States. Primary schools attend from nine in the morning and goes to noon. The lunch break is three hours long if the kids go to lunch, they go back to school and go from three to five. “Here in the US, students go from 8:15 and get out at 3:05 with only a half hour lunch” (Spanish 1) The city schools start up around nine in the morning and starts at 2 with little to no break. The city schools are considered like a high school. Our school starts at 7:40 and gets out at 3:05 with a half hour lunch. Secondary schooling begins anywhere between 8-830 and gets out at 5:30. If the teacher catches the students cheating the consequences are not small nor are they minor, students are usually written up and goes to the principal office, the teacher will call home and talk to your parents about what you 've done and the student will usually get a zero on the paper or test. “In Spain, the students there cheat all the time and the teachers don 't do a thing about it.”(Spanish Sabores 4). One of the biggest group that cheats is the Spanish learning students they can get away with cheating all the time, they don 't try to cheat secretly either. Since they have such a relaxed school system they are worried that the students will not be prepared for college reality to hit and how much time and effort they have to put into studying and all the homework because once they get into college the cheating process won 't be so
